About Attorney Emily Jolley

Emily is a 2015 graduate of the Birmingham School of Law and joins our firm with more than two decades of professional experience in education. Before entering the practice of law, she dedicated twenty years to serving Alabama’s students and families as a teacher, assistant principal, principal, and IEP Coordinator.

Her extensive background in education gives her a deep understanding of special education law, student rights, and school policy—areas that often intersect with family law and juvenile law matters. Emily has also worked as a consultant and expert witness in special education litigation, offering her expertise to ensure fair and lawful treatment of students with diverse needs.

Education and Professional Experience

Emily earned her:

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Secondary Education from Auburn University

  • Master’s Degree in Educational Leadership** from the University of South Alabama

  • Education Specialist Degree in Special Education from Jacksonville State University

She has presented at national, state, and local education workshops, focusing on meeting individual student needs, compliance with special education laws, and developing effective educational programs.

A proud Albertville native, Emily graduated from Albertville High School in 1993 and has worked with the Albertville City School System since 2008.

A Family Legacy of Legal Service

Emily’s passion for the law runs in her family. She and her brother, Allen, were both inspired by their father, Retired Circuit Judge Tim Jolley, whose career in public service deeply influenced her commitment to justice and education.

Dedicated to Both Teaching and the Law

Emily continues to serve her community as an educator while transitioning into private practice. Her dedication to both professions reflects her lifelong commitment to helping others. She will be working part-time with Guntersville Law, LLC as she fulfills her teaching responsibilities.
